Judith and I finally arrived in Palo Alto on Friday night local time. After getting a car, we had to realize at the location of our department that we will first have to move into a hotel for the night, as the security guy could not find the keys for the apartment after 2 hours of searching.
On the next day, suddenly keys were available in the admin office and we could move into our new home.
Yesterday, we had an orientation tour for Palo Alto and Mountain View, got SIM cards in a local AT&T store and bought a lot of food and housing stuff. In the evening, the idea was to go to a lounge in San Francisco, but after Mr. “Jet Lag” knocked at the door at 9.30pm the plan was changed to just go to bed.
And now I am sitting here wide awake already for one hour at 2:30 in the night… :-S
